Intsikurmu festival takes place for the sixth time on August 3-4 in Intsikurmu Forest Park. The festival line-up consists of over thirty artists from Estonia and abroad. The two-day festival has a diverse selection of foreign artists: it includes the British sound artist Ghostpoet, the US rapper and ambassador of bounce-music Big Freedia, the US multi-instrumentalist Conner Youngblood, the hip-hop producer Suff Daddy with the experimental orchestra The Lunch Birds, the electronic audio-visual project Oligarkh from Moscow, the out-of-the-box pop and jazz music band Mörk from Hungary, and the Latvian trio Audience Killers.
The selection of Estonian musicians includes representatives of different genres: the jazz talent Kadri Voorand with the guitarist Andre Maakre, the indie-band Levski, the pop-musician Rasmus Rändvee, the instrumental abstractionist duo Maarja Nuur & HH, the dream-pop group Pia Fraus, the beloved singer-songwriter Mari Jürjens, the psychedelic rock folk band Eeter, the Jew’s Harp popstar Meisterjaan, the charming rap artist Reket, and the hip-hop project 12EEK Monkey.
In addition to the carefully selected musical program, the festival features light and video installations and art works that highlight the surrounding forest park, a miscellaneously tasty street-food area (serving everything from brick oven pizza to vegetarian and vegan choices), and table service forest restaurants. A special Lastekurmu area caters for the young visitors providing a special program. For the first time, the festival fans have a choice between two camping areas.
